Self Portraits

I have experimented with self portrait photography ever since I first picked up a camera in high school. I really got into it in 2020 during the pandemic, which is also when I was diving into boudoir as well. The more I did it, the more I realized I loved sitting down, planning, using inspiration, and creating for just me. The way it fills my creative cup is unlike anything else.

In January 2024, I started a self portrait project for myself. This meant once a month I would tap into whatever was inspiring me, and create a photograph. This was actually the beginning of a huge growth in my body acceptance/ self love journey. I learned so much about myself, about giving myself grace when seeing myself in photographs, and how to lean into my softness, inside and out. It’s been invaluable in my work as an artist working with other women, applying what I’ve learned doing self portraits to boudoir photography. Below are some of my favorite self portraits I’ve taken since 2020.
