Boudoir Photoshoot Makeup Inspiration

This post is a double whammy — not only do I get to share some photos of babes rocking gorgeous boudoir makeup looks, I also get to hype up some amazing makeup artists! The hair and makeup process is a wonderful part of the Bloom Boudoir experience. During that hour and a half you’re getting to settle in a little bit, you get that unintentional ASMR head massage 🤤, and we get to chat it up getting to know each other! I love connecting with you babes before your session starts, the more comfortable we are the better.

When looking for makeup ideas, there are two important things you want to think about: outfit colors you’ll be wearing, and how dramatic or natural you want to look. These will give you keywords to search pinterest or instagram with. Some examples might be “glowy natural makeup,” “vampy red lip makeup,” “dramatic makeup for brown eyes” When in doubt, if you show up to your photoshoot and say to our hair and makeup artist “do whatever you think will look best!” they will deliver a custom look that ALWAYS slays!

Let’s take a look at some of my favorite makeup looks from past boudoir sessions (the talented makeup artist will be named below — definitely give them a follow!)

Hair and Makeup by Kelsee Feist @feistybeautyco

This look is one of the most memorable, iconic looks in Bloom Boudoir history. Hannah knew she wanted a deep, vampy red lip, and when the tube color wasn’t perfect, Kelsee mixed the perfect color just for her!

Hair and Makeup by Ashonti Turner @makeupshonti

This dramatic, glittering eye look was perfect for Jo’s burlesque inspired boudoir session. She’s an everyday glitter kind of girl, so adding it to her look for her shoot was a no brainer, and Ashonti totally nailed that liner!

Makeup by Shantel Dix @shantillyartistry

She’s a model, she’s a makeup artist, she’s a mama, she’s a sweetheart human being — what can’t Shantel do?! Pictured here she did her own makeup for our beach boudoir photoshoot, and she brought this glowy, rosy, soft glam look that was the perfect balance of color and warmth.

Hair and Makeup by Kelsee Feist @feistybeautyco

Kelcey’s bridal boudoir makeup look was so pretty and soft, which went so well with all of her light and airy outfits. This minimal makeup style really focuses on enhancing your natural features, which is Kelsee’s specialty!

Hair and Makeup by Emily Filice @makeupbyemilyclaire

Winged eyeliner and a bold red lipstick, name a more iconic duo — I’ll wait?! This look is practically a neutral, at least in the boudoir universe. It goes with everything, and Emily gave the perfect look for all three unique sets from Crystal’s session!

This is just the tip of the iceberg, but I hope you got some great inspiration for your own boudoir makeup look! Still on the hunt for a boudoir photographer to make it all happen? I’m booking for 2024, click the button below to get more info on pricing, the experience, and pre-payment plans!
