You Booked Your Boudoir Photoshoot - Now What?

So right now, you’re reading this and you’re about to take the leap and finally book yourself a boudoir session. But, you might be wondering a few things—what happens after I book? How much help planning do I get? Where should I shop? Is there a place I can go to chat with other people who have worked with my photographer? I’m here to answer these questions, my job is to help you feel supported, confident and stress-free about booking a boudoir photoshoot. With 10+ years of photography experience under my belt, I’ve had time to listen and learn about what my clients need to have a great session.

Welcome & Prep Emails

Right after you pay your session fee with me over the phone, you’ll see a couple of emails from me in your inbox! You’ll find the welcome email with your proposal attached (proposal=payment plan invoice+contract), and one more email with a questionnaire. The welcome email will give you advice on what you can do right after booking, like researching hair and makeup ideas and outfits. The proposal has our contract that protects everyone, and sets more detailed expectations for your Bloom Boudoir experience. Lastly, the invoice will include your pre-session payment plan breakdown for whichever product collection you decide to go with! That means you choose and pay off your products before the session, so that on session day you’re all set and don’t need to worry about paying for anything else (unless of course you decide to upgrade!) Don’t worry, we go over that more in depth over the phone.

As your photoshoot date approaches, you’ll receive a few more emails from me with tips to help you best prepare and know what you should be doing at that point. Things like making sure you know what you’ll be wearing, or what you’re wanting to see from the client closet, and last minute reminders and recommendations. These emails are spaced out, so you’re only getting information relevant to you at that point in our timeline! No overwhelming emails that get lost right after their read, haha.

Included within those emails are some really helpful resources and tips that I want to share with you here as well, just to alleviate some of that worry. Let’s dive in!

Facebook Group Community

I run a private, VIP group on facebook for my past and current boudoir clients, as well as anyone who is interested in boudoir, or just searching for some community with body positive babes! You do not need to inquire or be a client in order to be in the VIP group. This is a great spot for past a potential clients of mine to chat and hear more of a first hand account of the Bloom Boudoir photoshoot experience!

In that group, you’ll see more of my work, announcements, sales and specials, as well as fun games, inspirational/motivational content, and of course memes. If you’d like to be a member, click this link to join! We’d love to have you, and FYI—this group welcomes women (cis + trans) and non-binary people who are femme presenting ❤️

Shopping Master List

Within the VIP facebook group, there is a post called the Lingerie Shopping Master List—a.k.a you’re boudoir shopping bestie! I compiled (and continue to add more) websites of brands where you can find outfits for your session. It’s organized by price range, but I also included their size ranges and direct links! Wardrobe just got a lot easier.

Not on Facebook? No problem, you can still stay in the loop by joining the email to get occasional emails about what’s going on at Bloom Boudoir. Join the email list here.

4 Pillars of Prep

The last bit of advice I’ll bestow upon you here are the 4 pillars of prep! You’ll see this in your prep email as well, but let’s review them:

  1. Hydrate—Drink lots of water! This helps with energy and healthy glowing skin!

  2. Sleep—Be sure to get good sleep. Minimize under eye darkness/bags and have plenty of energy for all that posing!

  3. Stretch—Remember what I said about posing? Yeah, this helps a lot too. I recommend 5-10 min a day!

  4. Skincare—Take care of your skin the best you can, moisturizer and sunscreen every day.

Checking off these 4 things before your session will have you feeling the best you can before shoot day! We love a moisturized and hydrated queen!!
