Light & Dark Creative Boudoir Session

I am back with another fun creative session with my model Muse Mikaela! We were back in the beautiful Daylight Creative Space studio, and I got to play around with some different lighting styles. I love learning more about photography, expanding my skills and exploring new techniques! Then I get to bring more creativity to the table for my clients.

Beautiful Mikaela did her own hair and makeup for this session, and brought all her outfits as well! She rocked it as always. I love working with Mikaela for creative shoots when I want to try new things with no pressure, and she basically reads my mind now half the time I don’t have to tell her what I want. She’s incredibly talented! Cannot sing her praises enough.

We first did a light and airy, fine art look which you’ve seen from me before! I used to shoot in this space regularly, so I’m very familiar with the space, but we definitely used it in a new way that I am so obsessed with! It inspired me and brought up some ideas I’d like to translate into my own studio too, like the draping curtains. I was literally squealing with joy from how good that look was in camera!

It gave such an ethereal, dreamy look that took my freaking breath away. I desperately wish I could bottle that magic. A great takeaway from this second outfit - if you want a nude illusion without actually being nude, get underwear and pasties that match as closely to your skin tone as possible, it’s amazing how well it can translate on camera!

The next set, we did a hot 180 and did a dark, super dramatic set with lighting equipment after the sun went down. This is really where I got to stretch those creative muscles and step out of my own comfort zone a bit (see ya’ll, I practice what I preach 😉) If you saw my last blog post, you’ll notice I had already got to put those new skills to use, and it’s really fun to switch it up, especially for my dark and moody lovin’ babes!

This all black lace set with the mesh gloves was DOING IT FOR MEEEE. It’s so good, feels so editorial. I had so much fun shooting these, and left feeling so damn inspired. Which set was your favorite??
