Vintage Inspired Birthday Boudoir
The birthday girl has entered the chat 🥳
This session was an absolute blast to plan and design. Jo had a clear idea of what she wanted her boudoir session to look and feel like, and it was definitely a sort of vintage babe meets slumber party look. I have to say, we nailed it. It maaaay be because she’s my sister, but we had so much fun shooting her session. We were able to do it on her actual birthday, so it was all about celebrating her, and making her feel like a total queen on top of the world as she stepped into the next year of life.
I found these butterflies at Michael’s on a whim, and we came up with the idea of putting them in her hair, which also resulted in her strutting this sexy, undone updo. The butterfly accessories ended up being one of our favorite props in the whole shoot! Her bodysuit from Victoria’s Secret was the absolute cherry on top to really pull the look together, like I said, she knew what she wanted! She also wanted to go for the super cute gold balloon trend, so we incorporated that into the slumber party set. We bumped Ariana Grande, danced around the studio between shots, and made her birthday boudoir a legit party of two haha! It can be really helpful to have a sort of “theme” or guidelines as far as styling your session goes, especially when there are so many beautiful options for lingerie/props available. Lucky for you I already have some ideas to get you started if you need some inspo! Check out my pinterest board for styling ideas.
